Employee Relations  Manager

We are currently seeking an Employee Relations Manager that will be based at our corporate office in Houston, Texas. 


The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for partnering with both senior business stakeholders and HR teams to develop and implement Employee Relations best practices and programs. 

Provides consultation on employee relations issues for employees and leadership on behalf of the company. 


• Analyzes information and data necessary to define and discern cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
• Uses surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, makes recommendations on changes.
• Able to develop and write HR policies for a multi-state footprint.
• Advises managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances.
• Helps maintain a positive employee relations climate by proactively providing guidance to managers and responding to employee inquiries.
• Works collaboratively with employees and departmental leadership to carry out their responsibilities on employee relations matters.
• Participates in the investigation and resolution of on-going employee relations problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions and employee concerns.

• Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental leaders and employees; Help employees and leadership settle work-related conflicts through advice and guidance.
• Conducts employee relations investigations.
• Identifies and recommends solutions to Senior Leadership when repetition of individual problems indicate negative trends.
• Identifies and recommends retention strategies.
• Implements retention strategies and positive employee relations initiatives as designated by Executive Leadership.
• Consults with Chief Human Resources Officer on employee relations as needed.
• Assists in the communication of policies and procedures.  Performs other related duties as assigned.


• SPHR or HRCI certification preferred
• Minimum of three years Employee Relations experience.
• Previous healthcare related experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of federal and state labor and employment laws.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management and positive employee relations is necessary.
• Ability to manage broad range of tasks including counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
• Ability to express ideas clearly, effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior departmental leadership and facility managers.
• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, as well as make presentations to executive leadership as required.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Valid current state driver's license required.
