The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide physical therapy services as assigned and directed under the supervision of a physical therapist, concurrent with Nova Medical Centers’ physical therapy treatment philosophy. Clinical Duties:- The Physical Therapist Assistant promotes professional milieu and demeanor while providing physical therapy services.- Maintains a safe, clean, and accommodated working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.- Develops knowledge of evidence-based practice and demonstrates clinical knowledge of physical therapy services.- Perform assigned responsibilities from supervising physical therapist that are consistent with safe, legal, and ethical physical therapy practice.Other Responsibilities:- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.- Coordinates with Supervising Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services as specified in the plan of care; respond to acute changes in physiological state; teach other health care providers, patients, and families to perform selected treatment procedures and functional activities.- Meet with the Physical Therapy team members and/or other staff on a regular basis, including off-site to discuss quality of patient care, procedures, records, review of policies, attend training sessions, educational seminars and other issues as required.- Promote, support, and engage in projects, communications and activities which are designed to maintain, develop and/or improve overall teamwork within the center.- Assist with developing and promoting clear communication between the Physical Therapy department and other center staff members.- Document treatments and provide documentation per policy and procedure. Demonstrate the ability to exercise proper judgment.- Partner with the Physical Therapy team to ensure center operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards at Nova Medical Centers.
Physical Therapist will assess each patient, develop a plan of care, safely implement, and modify plans as necessary in accordance with American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, American Physical Therapy Association's Guide to Physical Therapists Practice and State Practice Act.- Upon physician referral, the Physical Therapist conducts an initial patient evaluation to develop an appropriate treatment plan with measurable goals and time frames.- Document treatments and provide documentation per policy and procedure.- Ensure that other treating medical professionals have the necessary information to appropriately evaluate the patient's functional ability.- Communicate on a regular basis with all physical therapy patients, setting their expectations for return-to-work and emphasizing education and motivation for compliance with the established treatment plan(s).- Meet with the Market Director of Physical Therapy and or other staff on a regular basis, including off-site to discuss quality of patient care, procedures, records, review of policies, attend training sessions, educational seminars and other issues as required.- Physical Therapist will partner with the Market Director of Physical Therapy and Medical Center Manager (MCM) to ensure center operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards at Nova Medical Centers.- Provide input to the Director of Physical Therapy Operations on capital equipment proposals, additional Physical Therapy support staff, to ensure responsibilities are consistently met.- Coordinate with MCM to eliminate missed appointments, as well as ensure that center support staff follows up on missed appointments the same day the appointment was missed.- Promote, support, and engage in projects, communications and activities which are designed to maintain, develop and/or improve overall teamwork within the clinic. Assist with developing and promoting clear communication between the Physical Therapy department and other center staff members.- Assure compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies, as well as remain familiar with rules and regulations established by relevant licensing bodies.- Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
